Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides assessment, short-term counseling, referral, management consultation, and coaching services to federal employees, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

"When my agency reorganized, I lost half of the staff in my department. The EAP was an extremely helpful resource during this time of change. The counselor coached me on the most effective ways to address resistance to change and boost morale. The immediate availability of a counselor and the excellent coaching that I received was very valuable." - Federal Human Resources Manager

Personal problems can affect the lives of employees both at home and at work. Federal Occupational Health (FOH) is the only federal agency that offers EAP services to our federal colleagues. Our services positively impact the professional and personal lives of hundreds of thousands of employees and their families across the country and internationally.

The EAP provided by FOH is a comprehensive program that helps employees resolve personal problems that may adversely impact their work performance, conduct, health, and overall well-being. FOH's EAP addresses problems in the quickest, least restrictive, and most convenient manner while minimizing cost and protecting client confidentiality.

The FOH EAP offers a wide variety of services including:

  • Assessment, counseling, and referrals
  • Financial and legal services
  • Critical incident response
  • Management consultation and counseling
  • Educational presentations, orientations, and outreach

Convenient and Confidential Access

Available any time, day or night, employees, and their family members can contact the program and immediately speak with a professional. Our team is available 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, and self-service tools and information can also be found online on our interactive website.

Services are confidential, except in the rare areas where disclosure is required by law, generally when there is a safety concern. Services are voluntary and are offered as a free agency benefit.

FOH's EAP helps your employees manage life's challenges so they can be healthier, happier, and more productive in all aspects of their lives.
