The Temporary Assistance for Need Families (TANF) program is designed to help families with children experiencing low-income achieve economic security and stability.
Defending Religious Liberty
The Office of Civil Rights (OCR) within HHS enforces Federal protections against discrimination based on conscience and religion in specific programs funded by HHS federal financial assistance. This includes not just the specific right to worship, but the general rights of belief and practice.
Promoting Foster Care and Adoption programs
The Children’s Bureau within the Administration for Children and Families partners with federal, state, tribal, and local agencies to improve the overall health and well-being of our Nation's children and families.
Providing Wholesome and Effective Education
The Administration for Children & Families (ACF) is an operating division of the Department of Health and Human Services. They promote the economic and social well-being of families, children, individuals, and communities by providing federal leadership, partnership and resources for the compassionate and effective delivery of human services.
Preventing and Reducing Crime and Facilitating Prisoner Reentry
Individuals, families, and communities served by HHS programs are affected by high rates of incarceration. HHS initiatives that target this population encompass a range of human services, health, and behavioral health services.
