REGISTER NOW for the upcoming OHRP Research Community Forum in Denver, Colorado – March 12, 2015

December 19, 2014

The Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) is co-sponsoring a Research Community Forum (RCF) with local institutions in Denver, Colorado on March 12th, 2015 entitled "Next Era Strategies to Elevate Human Research Protection." Institutions that conduct research often assign additional responsibilities to their Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) and Human Research Protection Programs (HRPPs) that go beyond the scope of protecting human subjects. Many of these additional responsibilities use IRB resources and do not provide additional protections to study participants. The conference will focus on regaining efficiencies in IRB functioning, while assessing institutional processes related to research. This dynamic one-day event will be co-hosted with Catholic Health Initiatives Institute for Research and Innovation (CHI) and the University of Colorado, Denver. The event title is “Next Era Strategies to Elevate Human Research Protection” and the forum tracks will include HRPP/IRB Fundamentals, HRPP Efficiencies, and Social Media in Research. Additionally, OHRP staff will be onsite as faculty and are available to answer questions and provide news and policy updates. “Next Era Strategies to Elevate Human Research Protection” Event web site: http://CHIResearch.cvent.com/ElevateHRPDenver2015
