Join OHRP on Friday, July 12, 2024, for the 50th anniversary of the National Research Act Commemoration Event

On Friday, July 12th, from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. EDT, OHRP will be hosting a virtual event to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the National Research Act. This OHRP commemorative event will reflect on the passage of the National Research Act and the work of the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research, showcase the diverse role research participants play in contemporary research, and consider what future scientific advances may mean for research participants and public trust in research.

The Common Rule applies to human subjects research conducted and supported by the Common Rule departments and agencies, not just HHS. OHRP has revised its page for the Common Rule Departments and Agencies to include appropriate contact information and associated agency’s policies on human research protections for the convenience of the research community.
