OHRP’s Human Research Protection Foundational Training now available in Spanish!

OHRP offers a 5-lesson comprehensive training on human research protections based on the requirements of the revised Common Rule. The training provides a foundational understanding of the ethical considerations and U.S. federal regulatory framework for protecting participants involved in federally funded research

OHRP Research Community Forum (RCF) is at the University of Miami, April 10th & 11th, 2024!

Join OHRP in sunny Coral Gables, FL as we co-host the next RCF, “Curating Connection”, with the University of Miami, the University of Florida, and Johns Hopkins University in April 2024!

Day one will offer interactive sessions with staff from OHRP on how to apply the regulations at 45 CFR 46. Day two kicks off with an exciting keynote about human subjects protection in space research. The afternoon features three tracks of presentations for attendees to choose from: development of Human Research Protection Programs (HRPP); data protection and integrity; and increasing the diversity of research participants.

This presentation covered the different types and manners of IRB review, including full board, limited review, expedited review, as well as various lifecycle actions like initial review, review of amendments, and continuing review applications.

OHRP is seeking nominations of qualified candidates to be considered for appointment as members of Secretary's Advisory Committee on Human Research Protections (SACHRP)

The Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking nominations of qualified candidates to be considered for appointment as members of the Secretary's Advisory Committee on Human Research Protections (SACHRP).

SACHRP provides advice and recommendations to the HHS Secretary on protections for human subjects in HHS-supported and conducted research. The request for nominations closes January 20th, 2024. Nominations should be sent to SACHRP@hhs.gov For more information, please see the Federal Register notice here:
