Brian McGill
Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary, Program Support Center
Brian T. McGill is the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary, Program Support Center, in the Office for Administration at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He oversees an organization that provides over 40 services and products for HHS and other federal interagency customers within financial management, occupational health, and real estate, logistics, and operations.
Prior to joining HHS, Mr. McGill served as Deputy Director of Security at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), where he oversaw complex operations to protect staff and facilities across the globe. He directed a broad portfolio of programs to provide security, intelligence analysis, counterterrorism vetting, threat monitoring, counterintelligence support, crisis response, security clearances, training, and logistics. In this role, he ensured centralized security support operations and fostered strategic partnerships with federal agencies and international organizations.
Mr. McGill held progressively responsible leadership positions within the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA). As Assistant Director for Threat Management, he directed comprehensive security programs including criminal investigations, executive protection, intelligence operations, and threat mitigation initiatives for the Pentagon community. As Chief of Staff, he provided executive oversight for agency operations and administration. He collaborated with senior leadership to establish strategic priorities and coordinate cross-functional initiatives while directly supervising key offices including Financial Management, Corporate Communications, and the Office of Professional Responsibility. While at PFPA, he also served as the Deputy Chief of Staff, Strategic Planner, and Law Enforcement Policy Analyst.
Mr. McGill's federal career began with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Consumer Litigation, followed by law enforcement service with the U.S. Capitol Police. He also brings valuable private sector experience, including business management and government consulting.
Mr. McGill holds a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University and a master's degree from The George Washington University.
