HHS OGC Career Information Session

Are you curious about what it’s like to work at the Office of the General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services? 

Who We Are: The Office of the General Counsel (OGC) is the legal team for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), providing quality representation and legal advice on a wide range of highly visible national issues. HHS relies on our diverse and collegial team to provide the highest quality and expeditious legal representation on social, economic, and healthcare issues.  OGC staff is expected to work independently and as a team with more than 700 OGC colleagues around the nation. We work on issues ranging from the food you consume to the care loved ones receive in hospitals and nursing homes; from the federal health services provided to American Indians and Alaska Natives to the funding of Head Start and Early Head start services, just to name a few….

As set out in Executive Order 14035, OGC strives to cultivate a workforce that draws from the full diversity of the Nation, and be a model for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, where all employees are treated with dignity and respect.  Staff includes a variety positions, from attorneys and paralegals, to administrative officers and project managers, HR and IT specialists, and general support staff services.

When and Where:  Join us for virtual career information sessions on us on September 26, 2023.  During these sessions, HHS OGC staff will provide an overview of the HHS Office of the General Counsel, with a focus on those offices with open vacancy announcements.  The sessions will provide an opportunity to learn more about the work of our office and to ask questions before you apply for an open position.  Please note:  This is not a job interview.
