The Secretary’s Office of Global Affairs is our nation’s global health lead, advancing the President’s agenda and priorities by driving common sense approaches and transparency to global partnerships. We are the diplomatic voice for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, fostering global relationships, coordinating international engagement, and strengthening the United States’ position as the global gold-standard for public health, ensuring that Americans are protected at home and abroad.

It affirms each nation's sovereign right to implement programs based on its laws and policies.

The United States Reaffirms Sovereignty in Global Health by Rejecting Amendments to International Health Regulations

"The proposed amendments to the International Health Regulations open the door to the kind of narrative management, propaganda, and censorship that we saw during the COVID pandemic.
