The Executive Secretariat (Exec Sec) manages the Department’s development and review of regulations, correspondence, Reports to Congress, and other policy documents, facilitating discussions to reconcile policy disagreements. Exec Sec mediates issues among Operating and Staff divisions, communicates Secretarial decisions, and ensures the implementation of those decisions. Exec Sec also works with other federal agencies to coordinate analysis of, and input on, public health, healthcare and human service policy decisions impacting HHS activities. Exec Sec directly supports the Secretary and Deputy Secretary and works with all divisions of the Department and other federal agencies.
