The Executive Secretariat (Exec Sec) manages the Department’s development and review of regulations, correspondence, Reports to Congress, and other policy documents, facilitating discussions to reconcile alternative policy viewpoints. Exec Sec mediates issues among HHS Divisions, communicates Secretarial decisions, and ensures the implementation of those decisions. Exec Sec also works with other federal agencies to coordinate analysis of, and input on, public health, health care, and human service policy decisions impacting HHS activities. Exec Sec directly supports the Secretary and Deputy Secretary and works with all HHS Divisions and other federal agencies.
