I send my best wishes to the Geneva Consensus Declaration, and I am proud that the United States will once again serve as its Secretariat.
During my first Administration, the United States was honored to join the Geneva Consensus Declaration alongside a coalition of nations united by a shared commitment to promote women’s health and opportunity, protect life at all stages, and preserve family as the heart of a strong and resilient society. In the years since—even in the face of leftist opposition—this coalition carried its important work forward and continued to grow as nations around the world stood together in defense of these enduring principles. When I returned to office, the United States proudly rejoined the Declaration, restoring American leadership to this important cause.
As the Secretariat, the United States will work closely with our allies and partners to advance the Declaration’s vital mission. Through the Office of Global Affairs at the Department of Health and Human Services, and under the leadership of Director Bethany Kozma, we will build upon the tremendous progress of recent years and strengthen cooperation among participating nations.
My Administration will always stand for the dignity of human life, the health and well-being of women, the strength of the family, and the right to defend these values and traditions. I commend the work of the Institute for Women’s Health to strengthen this growing coalition. Together, we will carry these principles forward and build a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous future for generations to come.
