Skin Cancer Reports and Publications

Skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States. The number of Americans who have had skin cancer at some point in the last three decades is estimated to be higher than the number for all other cancers combined, and skin cancer incidence rates have continued to increase in recent years.

Skin cancer can be disfiguring or even deadly, and medical treatment for it can be quite costly. Fortunately, most cases are preventable. The Surgeon General is calling on its partners in the medical, educational, and government communities across the nation to address skin cancer as a major, avoidable public health problem.
