NVAC Public Member: H. Cody Meissner, MD

NVAC Public Member | Term: 2/8/2017 – 2/8/2020

H. Cody Meissner is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases and is a leading national expert on childhood vaccinations. Dr. Meissner is a professor of pediatrics at Tufts University School of Medicine and chief of the Pediatric Infectious Disease Service at Floating Hospital for children at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. His clinical specialties include Kawasaki disease, immunodeficiencies, and respiratory viruses.

Dr. Meissner is an ex-officio member of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Committee on Infectious Disease, where he also serves as an associate editor of the Visual Red Book. He was a member of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) until July 2012 and participates on CDC Work Groups. Dr. Meissner is the author of over 200 original reports, reviews, book chapters, and  AAP and CDC Policy Statements.
