HHS’ November 2020 policy requires that regulations are necessary, clear, and provide guidance to the public and interested parties regarding regulatory requirements. Specifically, the policy aims to eliminate regulations that unnecessarily burden the American public or inhibit business innovation. Redundant, overlapping, or inconsistent regulations undermine the department ‘s goals by creating uncertainty and imposing unnecessary costs and burdens.
Request for Information (RFI)
To improve its regulations and eliminate confusing or conflicting rules, the HHS issued a Request for Information (RFI) to solicit input from the public. The purpose of the RFI is to gather input from the public to help identify regulations that are duplicative, unlawful, unconstitutional, burdensome, or not in the national interest. HHS is committed to ensuring its regulations are transparent, rational, and aimed at achieving legitimate government objectives.
Submit your responses to the RFI at Regulations.gov, links to an external website.
