WTAS: Secretary Kennedy’s Launch of The Real Food Show to Inspire Americans to Cook Healthy, Affordable Meals at Home
WASHINGTON, D.C.—AUGUST 3, 2026—U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. announced the launch of The Real Food Show on Thursday, a new cooking series designed to help Americans prepare healthy, affordable meals using real, everyday ingredients.
More than a cooking show, The Real Food Show is a national initiative that empowers families to make healthy eating practical, approachable, and affordable. Each episode combines simple recipes with the science behind them, translating the new Dietary Guidelines for Americans into meals that Americans can prepare in their own kitchens.
Here’s how medical professionals and the media are responding to Secretary Kennedy’s actions:

Headlines
Medical Professionals:
- Kendall Mackintosh, board certified and licensed nutritionist via Newsmax broadcast: “This is so exciting. It’s just one more positive initiative coming from this new HHS. And this Eat Real Food initiative is really, really exciting. So I’m very excited about it.”
- Camille Adams, chef and dietician via Newsmax broadcast: “I’m a chef. I’m a dietitian, and I also lead a culinary medicine program. And so this type of thing that he’s doing, I absolutely support because we teach this into our community members every single day. The more you cook at home, the more you know exactly what’s going into your food. It can be budget friendly and delicious when you prioritize whole foods.”
- Juliana Vocca, registered dietitian and owner of Prime Women Nutrition, via New York Post: “RFK Jr.’s cooking show may be promising in terms of educating the public on how to cook healthy…”
- Maryann Walsh, registered dietitian and president of Walsh Nutrition Consulting, via New York Post: “The recipe is good for someone thinking about their health for a few reasons: the salmon has protein and heart-healthy omega-3s, then the arugula and apples provide antioxidants and fiber, the beans add fiber as well, and those who are concerned about seed oils can find comfort in the olive oil being used for the recipe…Overall, this is a nutritious recipe and the basic cooking techniques discussed were appreciated…”
- Tiffany Bruno, a plant-based registered dietitian, via New York Post: “I like that this recipe includes a plant-based protein…The beans in the side salad are going to contribute protein to the meal, as well as fiber, complex carbohydrates and micronutrients like folate. Thanks to the beans, the salad alone could even be turned into a meal with a larger portion, making this cooking demo even easier for busy folks.”
Influencers & Members of the Media:
- Chef Gruel via Fox News: “I’m excited to be part of the premiere episode because I believe the message is much bigger than a cooking show…My hope is that this series helps demystify cooking and shows people that preparing crave-worthy, healthy meals doesn’t require professional training or expensive ingredients…”
- Brian Killmeade via Fox News broadcast: “I think it’s a great idea. Andrew Gruel is also a great guy to start with. Fantastic personality. This guy has his own restaurants, and he does eat healthy. And most importantly, RFK is in really good shape, and so is Andrew. Like you don’t want a chef that’s not in shape telling you how to eat right.”
- Anna Kooiman, news anchor via NewsNation broadcast: “He’s really emphasizing whole foods and just getting people to talk about this more, including protein, fruits, vegetables, and cutting back on highly processed foods…The show isn’t government policy, but it really does to help explain and promote the health priorities that Kennedy has been pushing.”
- Will Cain (@TheWillCainShow), television and radio host via X: “WATCH: HHS SECRETARY @RobertKennedyJr IS TAKING ON BIG FOOD—ONE PLATE AT A TIME. He’s launching ‘The Real Food Show,’ traveling America with top chefs to put real food back on your plate at an affordable price.”

- Anna Matson (@AnnaRMatson), journalist and podcaster via X: “RFK Jr started a cooking show featuring chefs from around the country to show Americans how to make delicious REAL FOOD on a budget! The first episode is out now.”
- Leading Report (@LeadingReport) via X: “RFK Jr. launches a new cooking show, “The Real Food Show,” focused on healthy, budget-friendly meals.”
- MJTruthUltra (@MJTruthUltra) via X: “This is pretty cool…RFK Jr announced a brand new show called ‘The Real Food Show’, aimed at helping Americans eat better, with the goal that every American can prepare the healthiest possible meals for their families at under $5 per serving.”
- Nurse Kate John (@Nursekatejohn), wellness advocate via X: “Looking forward to the show being done in the kitchen of a regular MAHA mom.”
- Sydna Masse (@sydnamasse) author and Founder/CEO Ramah International via X: “So proud of the MAHA movement. Thank you, @SecKennedy, for all that you are doing for our health and welfare.”
- Marina Medvin (@MarinaMedvin) via X: “I have seen posts by leftist elitists laughing and mocking the RFK Jr cooking show for meals under $5. Here’s the thing — you can disagree with the conclusions he draws from various data points as uninformed or unscientific, that’s fine. But his desire to teach affordable healthy eating should be universally praised. At the end of the day, America has an obesity problem and thus far no one has been able to solve it. Let him try the cooking show approach. Helping poor people without mocking them used to be the Democratic platform back in my day. It’s a strange turn you guys made. On the right, we believe that the more that we can help people help themselves, the better. Up till now, the government has been handing out cash to buy sugar and worse. If you were going to laugh at something it should be that. Anyway, this is universally good. It’s okay to recognize that…”
- Serenitee Sam (@Serenitee_Sam) via X: “For decades, fast food got faster while home cooking slowly disappeared. Now RFK Jr. says it's time to change that. He just announced The Real Food Show, a nationwide series where he’ll team up with top chefs to teach families how to make delicious, affordable meals using real ingredients. The goal? Bring real food back to the American table and help a new generation rediscover how to cook. Whether you agree with the message or not, one thing is hard to ignore: knowing how to cook is a skill that can save money, bring families together, and last a lifetime.”
- Cathy Hernandez, co-founder of Agency Social via Newsmax broadcast: “I think it's great. It's about time that we get back to eating actual food. And if we look at where people are today, diet wise, all of the processed food, it actually costs a lot more money for junk food. When you think of potato chips or cereals, everything with salt and sugar and preservatives and flavorings to keep you addicted. It costs more to actually shop for those things than it does if you get a nice, good piece of protein...So I think it's great. I look forward to it.”
- Melissa Blasek (@MelissablasekNH) host of The Liberty Lobbyist on DailyClout and former NH state representative via X: “Ok. I’m highly critical of so much of the admin but I LOVE THIS. Cooking at home is always cheaper. So often when I feel overwhelmed and short on time and I give in to ordering, I’m disgusted by the time I get it in the house because I know I could have made a more nutritious meal faster. Cooking doesn’t have to be elaborate or expensive. Parents have failed their kids by not teaching basic cooking skills.”
