What’s in Your Pantry? Secretary Kennedy and Lori Taylor Share the Staples Every Kitchen Needs on the Real Food Show
WASHINGTON—September 30, 2026—U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. today released a new episode of The Real Food Show with Lori Taylor, founder of The Produce Moms.
In the episode, Secretary Kennedy and Taylor respond to one of the most common questions from viewers: what staples should families keep in their pantries to eat well while staying on budget? Taylor walks through staples including rice, pasta, cooking oils, vinegars, herbs and spices, canned fish, and canned fruits and vegetables before putting those ingredients to work in an easy one-skillet meal.
“Healthy eating should be simple, affordable, and practical for every American family,” said Secretary Kennedy. “We are showing families how to turn everyday pantry staples into real meals, stretch their grocery dollars, and take greater control over what they eat.”
Secretary Kennedy and Taylor prepare a one-skillet chicken dish with vegetables and pantry staples for under $3 per person. Along the way, they tackle some of the realities families face in the kitchen, from picky eaters and busy weeknights to making the most of ingredients already on hand. Taylor also shares how cooking can help families build traditions around the kitchen table and how exposing children to a variety of foods at home and at school can shape their tastes from an early age.
The Real Food Show demonstrates how every American can cook healthy, delicious meals at affordable prices. The series features budget-friendly recipes, easy cooking techniques, and practical nutrition advice to help Americans bring real food back to the table and restore the sacred ritual of preparing and eating a meal together.
