Secretary Kennedy and Chef André Rush Give Fast-Food Favorite a MAHA Makeover for the Fourth Episode of The Real Food Show
WASHINGTON, D.C. — September 18, 2026 — U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. today released the fourth episode of The Real Food Show with celebrity chef, retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant, and former White House chef André Rush, showing Americans how to recreate a fast-food favorite at home using real, affordable ingredients.
In the episode, Secretary Kennedy and Chef Rush prepare a healthy crunch wrap with seasoned ground turkey, brown rice, black beans, fresh vegetables, Greek yogurt, and other whole-food ingredients for just $2.54 per serving. They pair the wrap with a frozen banana dessert for $0.90 per serving, bringing the complete meal to approximately $3.44 per serving.
“President Trump has charged us with putting real food back at the center of American life,” said Secretary Kennedy. “Healthy eating does not have to be expensive, complicated, or boring. Chef Rush and I remade a fast-food favorite with real, nutritious ingredients and served a complete meal for less than $3.50 a person. We are showing families that they can eat well, spend less, and take control of their health.”
Chef Rush spent more than two decades as a chef in the U.S. Army and later served as a White House chef for four presidents, including President Donald J. Trump. He has become a prominent advocate for nutrition, physical fitness, mental wellness, and veteran health, using his platform to encourage Americans to take greater control of their health.
During the conversation, Secretary Kennedy and Chef Rush discuss how cooking and sharing real food can bring families together, support mental well-being, and help build healthy habits around nutrition and physical fitness. Drawing on Chef Rush’s decades of military service, they also discuss the Trump Administration’s efforts to improve the food served to America’s service members and the importance of giving troops nutritious meals that support their health and readiness.
