Speakers Mona Hanna-Attisha, MD MPH, a nationally recognized public health advocate whose research uncovered the Flint water crisis, and Luke Shaefer, Ph.D., who founded the Center for Poverty Solutions, engaged in a moderated discussion on the impact of poverty on early childhood development and lifelong health conditions, the role of academic-community partnerships in addressing health inequities, and how such research could drive important changes in public health policies. This presentation was delivered at the OHRP Research Community Forum co-sponsored with the University of Michigan in September 2023.
