The National Vaccine Program (NVP) is charged by Congress with leading national planning efforts to achieve optimal prevention of human infectious diseases through immunization and to achieve optimal prevention against adverse reactions to vaccines.
Released in January 2021, the Vaccines National Strategic Plan 2021-2025, opens in a new tab (National Vaccine Plan) guides and facilitates coordination and planning toward an optimized immunization system in the United States over the course of a five-year timeframe.
Released in February 2023, the Vaccines Federal Implementation Plan outlines federal agency activities in support of national vaccine goals.
