U.S.-Mexico Border Health Commission

U.S.-Mexico Border Health Commission Logo On October 22, 1994, Public Law (PL) §103-400, known as the U.S. – Mexico Border Health Act, gave the authority and encouraged the President of the United States to establish the United States-Mexico Border Health Commission (Commission). On July 24, 2000, the Agreement between the United States of America and the United Mexican States established the binational Commission and created the U.S. and Mexican sections.

The purpose of the Commission is to identify and evaluate current and future health problems affecting the population of the U.S. – Mexico border area, and to encourage and facilitate actions to address these problems.

U.S. Section

Vision: A healthy United States – Mexico Border population.

Mission: To identify and assess current and emerging health issues affecting populations in the United States - Mexico border region and facilitate actions to address these challenges and improve health and quality of life.
