International Relations Division

The International Relations Division (IRD) is regionally organized into offices for Africa, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe/ Eurasia, and the Middle East. IRD also includes the Office of Multilateral Relations, which works with international organizations.

Africa Office

The Africa Regional Office provides essential diplomatic support for HHS’ work in the region by maintaining and strengthening relationships with sub-Saharan African governments, particularly Ministries of Health, and aligning partners from multilateral organizations, country governments and non-governmental organizations to protect and promote health and wellbeing across Africa.

Americas Office

OGA’s Americas Office provides leadership and guidance on U.S. global health policy regarding Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and the U.S.-Mexico border region.

Asia/Pacific Office

The Asia/Pacific Office represents the United States in regional health negotiations and policy discussions on topics ranging from cancer research and healthy ageing to global health security and antimicrobial resistance.

Europe-Eurasia Office

The Office of Europe and Eurasia (E/E) builds and maintains partnerships with countries in the Europe and Eurasia region to advance U.S. health priorities.

Middle East-North Africa Office

The Office of the Middle East provides leadership and guidance on U.S. global health policy in the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan that strengthen public health programs and research initiatives, and promote regional support for health priorities.
