What is KidneyX?

The Kidney Innovation Accelerator (KidneyX) is a public-private partnership between the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the American Society of Nephrology to accelerate innovation in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of kidney diseases.

KidneyX seeks to improve the lives of the 850 million people currently affected worldwide by accelerating the development of drugs, devices, biologics and other therapies across the spectrum of kidney care including: Prevention, Diagnostics and Treatment.

“We admit readily that we do not have the answers for this. We are reaching out. This accelerator program on innovation should be seen as the beginning of a partnership with this community and others. We need everyone’s help to go forward and make a difference.” – Bruce D. Greenstein, Chief Technology Officer, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
