Question: What is the deadline for Issuers to submit a TA1/999 acknowledgement after receipt of the HIX 820 transaction?

Answer: Issuers should send the TA1/999 acknowledgement and response to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) immediately after the receipt of the HIX 820 transaction. If CMS does not receive a 999 from the Issuer acknowledging receipt of the transaction, the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) team will contact the Issuer.
