Paper-Based Manuals

Guidance for Paper-Based Manuals.

Final

Issued by: Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)

Issue Date: April 05, 2012

Paper-based manuals are CMS manuals that were officially released in hardcopy. The majority of these manuals were transferred into the Internet-only manual (IOM) or retired from the manual. Pub 15-1, Pub 15-2 and Pub 45 are exceptions to this rule and are still active Paper-Based Manuals. The remaining paper-based manuals are for reference purposes only and have been archived. The archived manuals can be accessed using the following URL: http://wayback.archive-it.org/2744/20111201152312//Manuals/PBM/list.asp. If you notice policy contained in the paper-based manuals that was not transferred to the IOM, send a message via the CMS Feedback tool below.

HHS is committed to making its websites and documents accessible to the widest possible audience, including individuals with disabilities. We are in the process of retroactively making some documents accessible. If you need assistance accessing an accessible version of this document, please reach out to the guidance@hhs.gov.
