MLN Product (New); Title: Rural Emergency Hospitals

This new Product comprises Subregulatory Guidance for a new Medicare Part A provider type, Rural Emergency Hospitals (REHs), and its content is based on publically available content within at https://www.congress.gov/116/plaws/publ260/PLAW-116publ260.pdf#page=1781. CMS policy or operation subject matter experts also reviewed/cleared this product. This product educates on how to become an REH provider, REH billing, payments and reporting quality data. Starting January 1, 2023, Medicare will pay for Medicare-enrolled Rural Emergency Hospitals (REHs) to deliver emergency hospital, observation, and other services to Medicare patients on an outpatient basis.
