Medicaid Strategies for Non-Opioid Chronic Pain Management
Guidance for : The Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) has issued several Informational Bulletins (Bulletin) outlining state approaches and effective practices for addressing the opioid overdose epidemic within Medicaid. In partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institutes of Health, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), CMCS issued a Bulletin in 2014 to provide states with information, examples of state-based initiatives, and useful resources related to medication-assisted treatment.1
