Question: Do issuers using an On-Premise EDGE server need to set up an Amazon Web Services (AWS) account?
Answer: Issuers using an On-Premise EDGE server will not need to set up an AWS account. However, the server must be able to connect to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) AWS environment to pull files (e.g., the EDGE application, update scripts). Please refer to the EDGE Server On-Premise and Amazon Pre-registration and Registration Presentation Slides posted in the REGTAP Library (www.regtap.info) for more information on configuring On-Premise servers.
