Dear Colleague Letter
Re: WIOA Joint Blog
Date: July 6, 2015
Dear Colleagues:
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is the catalyst to re-invigorate America’s workforce development system, in order to better serve jobseekers -- including the low-income individuals we serve in the CSBG Network. The Office of Community Services (OCS) believes that the CSBG Network can be an important partner in developing effective employment and training strategies that move our citizens to economic self-sufficiency. We encourage you to get involved in your state- and local-level discussions about WIOA and the revitalized American Job Center system.
July 1 was an important milestone for WIOA, with the new provisions of the law going into effect. Please see the inter-agency federal blog post, featuring Mark Greenberg, Acting Assistant Secretary for the Administration for Children and Families, as a contributing author: https://www.acf.hhs.gov/blog/2015/07/3-agencies-2-customers-1-.......
