2005 Revised American National Standards Institute X12N 837 Professional Health Care Claim Companion Document
The current inbound 837 Professional companion document language is being revised to provide revisions, correct errors, and implement
additional language to cover new initiatives such as the National Provider Identifier (NPI). The summary of changes to the document is: 1)Addition of a new statement indicating "The National Provider Identifier (NPI) must be submitted in the NM109 segment (NM108 = XX)"; 2)Revision to the code set statement providing an updated URL for Washington Publishing Company code sets; 3)Correction to the language in the qualifier statement; 4)Addition of "Application Receiver Code" title to GS03 statement; 5)Correction to the SV104 anesthesia value statement changing "units" to "minutes" and correcting Implementation Guide page reference from "400" to "403"; and 6)Clarification to the SV104 and PS102 negative values statements
