OHRP Research Community Forum in University Park, Illinois on July 28, 2015
In cooperation with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP), Governors State University, Illinois will be co-hosting the July 2015 OHRP Research Community Forum in University Park, Illinois. The event title is “Human Subjects Research: Current Challenges in the Modern Research World”. In addition to the HHS regulations on human research protections, the conference will cover a variety of topics including ethical issues involving incidental findings, ethnographic research, internet research, and research involving vulnerable subjects. Additionally, representatives of OHRP will be onsite to answer questions and provide news and policy updates.
Researchers, research coordinators, Institutional Review Board (IRB) members and staff, institutional officials, other public health service agencies, emerging bioscience companies entering human research and anyone with an interest in research involving human subjects should consider attending this informative and interesting one-day conference.

“Getting through Human Research Reviews with Skill”

At the 2015 NIH Regional Seminar, Hilton San Diego Bayfront in San Diego, California
This workshop targets are investigators and research personnel who are relatively new to the arena of research involving human subjects, their biospecimens or data. It aims to provide participants with the skill and knowledge necessary to have their NIH grant applications and research protocols pass reviews for human research protections. It will focus on clarifying confusions and providing participants with practical tips and solutions to problems and difficulties commonly encountered during such reviews.
