Guidance for FAQ regarding Payment Processing and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)

Question: Will the Exchange communicate premium and subsidy amounts on a monthly basis? How often can subsidy levels change; will they be calculated annually?
Answer: The Exchange will transmit 834 enrollment transactions that include monthly Advance Premium Tax Credit (APTC) and Cost-sharing Reduction (CSR) amounts to issuers. The Exchange will only send an 834 transaction upon enrollment and when changes in eligibility or subsidy amounts occur. There is no limit on the number of times that subsidy levels can change during a year.
