Updates to Chapters 4 and Exhibit 16 in Publication (Pub.) 100-08, Including Updates to the Provider Identity Theft Investigations, and Victimized Provider Waiver of Liability Process
The purpose of this Change Request (CR) is to revise various sections within chapter 4 and Exhibit 16 in Pub. 100-08. The revisions include updates to the “Provider Identity Theft Investigations, Victimized Provider Waiver of Liability Process, and Identifying and Reporting Compromised Medicare Beneficiary Identifiers” process and the Model Payment Suspension Letters exhibit.
These updates do not affect the provider and/or beneficiary populations. Rather, these updates are solely related to contractor technical processes and procedures. All updates ensure our contractors have the most recent guidance. This CR does not require provider education.
