SMD: New Service Delivery Opportunities for Individuals with a Substance Use Disorder
Guidance for : The purpose of this letter is to inform states of opportunities to design service delivery systems for individuals with substance use disorder (SUD), including a new opportunity for demonstration projects approved under section 1115 of the Social Security Act (Act) to ensure that a continuum of care is available to individuals with SUD. There are numerous federal authorities offering states the flexibility to implement system reforms that improve care, enhance treatment and offer recovery supports for SUD.
