Question: Are the enrollment action and the insurance policy status code tied together or are the two independent?
Answer: The status of the enrollment action is for the entire employer file. For example, if the employer changes her address, a maintenance code is sent on the group file. On the other hand, an insurance plan code is used to indicate the status of the plan. Plan status is dependent on the enrollment action.
