Guidance for FAQ regarding 834 Transaction and Companion Guide

Question: Are issuers required to send both TA1 and 999 confirmations?
Answer: Yes. The acknowledgment model for Federally-facilitated Small Business Health Options Program (FF-SHOP) Marketplaces will follow the Federally-facilitated Marketplace (FFM). Both TA1 and 999 confirmations will be required for the transactions sent by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). A 999 confirmation is not required for Group XML transactions.
