Question: When an employer changes to a new Agent/Broker, will the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) send the effective date that the new Agent/Broker is tied to the group?

Answer: Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will not send the effective date on the maintenance Group XML transaction. Issuers should make the change effective immediately or as of the next commission payment cycle.
