Question: Will employers have a choice in 2015 on whether to set up benefits on a calendar or a contract year? If so, how will CMS provide that information to Issuers? If not, will groups enrolling through the FF-SHOP be set up on a calendar year or contract year?
Answer: Employers will not have a choice in 2015 whether to set up benefits on a calendar or a contract year. Issuers may establish plan years based on what's allowed under applicable state law.
