Question: What is the effective date for adoptions and foster care?

Answer: Pursuant to 45 155.420 (b) (2) Special effective dates. (i) In the case of birth, adoption, placement for adoption, or placement in foster care, the Exchange must ensure that coverage is effective for a qualified individual or enrollee on the date of birth, adoption, placement for adoption, or placement in foster care.
