Guidance for FAQ regarding Employer/Employee Interaction and Medicare
Program Area: Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP)
Question: In the past, rates for individuals 65 and over had varied based on the size of the group. Specifically, when Medicare was the primary payer, the rate for an enrollee was generally lower. Will this policy be reviewed for 2015?
Answer: The new market rules do not allow rates to vary based on whether an enrollee has Medicare or not. There are currently no plans to change this policy.
