Distributed Data Collection (DDC) for RA Including HCRP/EDGE Server FAQ

Guidance for FAQ regarding Edge Server Operations and Policy

Program Area: Distributed Data Collection (DDC) for RA Including HCRP/EDGE Server

Question: Are issuers able to delete a diagnosis code from the original claim or encounter submitted to the External Data Gathering Environment (EDGE) server with the supplemental file or the supplemental diagnosis code that was added ?

Answer: Yes, if a diagnosis code on a medical claim was removed due to a medical chart review, a supplemental delete record can be used to remove the diagnosis code from the medical claim. This will also work to remove a diagnosis code that was added to the medical claim by a previously submitted supplemental add record as well.
