Guidance for FAQ regarding Edge Server Operations and Policy
Program Area: Distributed Data Collection (DDC) for RA Including HCRP/EDGE Server
Question: What is the source of the codes in the Enrollment Period Activity field of the EDGE Server Enrollment Submission and are they Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)/Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provided or expected to be in an issuer's system already?
Answer: Codes 021028, 021041 and 021EC are based on the concatenation of the 834 '021' maintenance type code and 834 maintenance reason codes '028', '041', and 'EC'. Code '001' is based on the 834 maintenance type code for a change. We use these codes for the specific purpose of identifying enrollment period changes that are important to the Risk Adjustment and Reinsurance programs. For additional information, please refer to operational guidance related to the Enrollment Period Activity Indicator (EPAI) codes, please refer to the External Data Gathering Environment (EDGE) Server Premiums, EPAI, and Enrollment Scenarios (9/29/15) available at https://www.REGTAP.info under the Distributed Data Collection program area.
