DHS Terminations of Parole Programs for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans: Implications for Medicaid and CHIP Eligibility and Verification Process
This Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) Informational Bulletin is being issued to
remind states about their responsibility to redetermine a beneficiary’s eligibility for Medicaid
and/or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) when the state becomes aware of changes
in a beneficiary’s circumstances that may impact eligibility for these programs, such as a change
in immigration status or category1 (e.g., parole).
