Guidance for: This memorandum specifies new guidance CMS added to Chapter 7 of the State Operations Manual, which revises and expands current Medicare and Medicaid guidance regarding the imposition and collection of civil money penalties by CMS when nursing homes are not in compliance with federal participation requirements, in accordance with section 6111 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.
