Accreditation and its Impact on Various Survey and Certification Scenarios
Guidance for Almost 7,000 providers and suppliers currently participate in Medicare via deemed status through a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)-recognized Accreditation Organization (AO), and the number is growing. CMS has developed a comprehensive set of frequently asked questions (FAQs) and responses related to the impact of a provider/supplier’s accreditation status on various survey and certification activities.
