Noninvasive Positive Pressure Ventilation (NIPPV) in the Home for the Treatment of Chronic Respiratory Failure (CRF) Consequent to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

The purpose of this Change Request (CR) is to inform contractors that effective June 9, 2025, contractors shall pay claims for Respiratory Assist Device (RADs) with or without a backup rate feature and Home Mechanical Ventilators (HMVs), in the home, as treatment for patients with Chronic Respiratory Failure (CRF) consequent to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
