MM14206 - Inpatient Psychiatric Facilities Prospective Payment System: FY 2026 Updates
Per section 4125(a) of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023, we finalized updates to the payment adjustments for rural location and teaching status effective for FY 2026. We also finalized a proposal to recognize resident full-time equivalent cap increases we award under section 4122 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023 for calculating the teaching adjustment.
We applied a refinement standardization factor of 0.9927 to the IPF PPS federal per diem base rate and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) per treatment amount to maintain budget neutrality. A summary of the applicable adjustment factors and payment rates is in Attachment 1 of CR 14206.
