Electronic Reading Room

FOIA amendments signed into law in 1994 added a requirement that agencies must establish an Electronic Reading Room.  The Reading Room contains certain agency manuals, specific agency policy statements, opinions made in adjudication of cases, and an index of records released by FOIA that are likely to become the subject of subsequent FOIA requests.

The information you are requesting may be located in the HHS or HHS Service Center Reading Rooms.  At HHS, each Operating Division/FOIA Service Center has an Electronic Reading Room.  Please check the Reading Rooms before submitting a FOIA request.
