The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released the Healthy People 2020 Midcourse Review that provides a snapshot of progress toward the HP2020 goals and objectives. Healthy People provides science-based, 10-year national objectives for improving the health of all Americans. OPA is the lead agency for developing the family planning topic area, which is one of 42 topic areas in Healthy People 2020. Final Regulation to Increase Access to Affordable Family Planning and Preventive Services
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a final rule to clarify the regulations for family planning services under Title X of the Public Health Service Act and protect access to family planning services. The final rule clarifies the Title X program regulations by adding that no grant recipient making subawards for the provision of services as part of its Title X project may prohibit an entity from participating for reasons other than its ability to provide Title X services. Title X Program Policy Notice: Integrating with Primary Care Providers
OPA released a new Program Policy Notice clarifying how Title X grantees may remain in compliance with Title X Family Planning Program Requirements when integrating services with Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) Health Center Program grantees and look-alikes. The guidance in this policy notice pertains only to integrated settings, and not to settings in which only Health Center Program services are provided.
