OCR enforces the Federal civil rights laws in healthcare and social services that prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability, age, sex, or religion. Since its inception, OCR has resolved thousands of discrimination complaints across the country; and in doing so, has helped to eliminate unlawful barriers preventing individuals from accessing these important services. Please visit the links below for more detailed information on case resolutions OCR has secured under a various enforcement authorities, as well as success stories highlighting how OCR’s enforcement work has improved healthcare by ensuring that all individuals have equal access to quality healthcare and social services.
