Presidential Champions is a physical activity awards program designed to motivate individuals to make regular physical activity a permanent part of a healthy, active lifestyle.
The program is all about motivating yourself to be physically active – logging your activities, and earning points as you do it. It’s a great program for youth (ages six and older) or adults who are already regularly active, or a great next step for those who have completed the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA+) and are looking for a new challenge. Instructions on how to get started, program goals, and awards are provided below.
On January 31, 2018, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that the SuperTracker online food and activity tracking tool will be discontinued on June 30, 2018. This announcement will impact two programs of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition (PCSFN): Presidential Champions and the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA+).
Presidential Champions is an online-only program that was integrated into USDA’s SuperTracker in January 2017. With the discontinuation of SuperTracker, the Presidential Champions program will be discontinued on June 30, 2018. New and existing users of Presidential Champions may continue logging their physical activity and Presidential Champions points on SuperTracker before June 30, 2018. Users will no longer be able to access the Presidential Champions program once SuperTracker is taken offline.
The Presidential Champions Awards Store, powered by the Council’s congressionally-chartered National Fitness Foundation, will remain operational through July 31, 2018. Items in the awards store are available while supplies last.
Presidential Champions Background
Presidential Champions was established in 2003 as part of the President’s Challenge Physical Activity & Fitness Awards Program. In August 2016, the President’s Challenge closed and an announcement was made that Presidential Champions would transition to USDA’s SuperTracker platform. SuperTracker has been the online home of the program since the re-launch in January 2017.
PCSFN congratulates all Presidential Champions participants for their personal achievements using the program, and will continue to share information and resources to motivate individuals to make regular physical activity a permanent part of a healthy, active lifestyle.
