The President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition (PCFSN) will convene to inform and engage Council members on current outreach initiatives and progress towards 2013 goals, including the Let’s Move! Active Schools initiative launched in February. The 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award (LAA) and Community Leadership Award winners will be announced, and the LAA recipients will be recognized during the meeting for their contributions to the advancement and promotion of physical activity, fitness, sports and nutrition on a national level. 

All Council meetings are free and open to the public. The meeting minutes will be archived on the PCFSN website at www.fitness.gov.

Please RSVP by Thursday, May 2nd to rsvp.fitness@hhs.gov and include your first, middle and last name and email address. You must bring a valid, government-issued ID on the day of the meeting. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please RSVP by Friday, April 26th, and indicate your country of citizenship in your RSVP email.

Parking: There is limited street parking surrounding the Hubert H. Humphrey Building. We recommend taking the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit System (Metro).

By Metro, Take either the Blue or Orange line to Federal Center Metro Station: This station is located within two blocks of the venue. Proceed through the visitor entrance of the Hubert H. Humphrey Building and inform the desk attendant that you are attending the Council Member Meeting. Proper identification will be required.

Let’s Move! Active Schools Webinar

Who: Members of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition
What: A unique live webcast, hosted by Discovery Education, from the Capitol Hill Montessori School in Washington D.C. highlighting the Let's Move! Active Schools initiative.  
When:  Monday, May 6, 2013 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM ET

Why: To educate students about the importance of being active and to provide teachers/school administrators, parents and community leaders with the information they need to be empowered and encouraged to create a Let’s Move! Active School by becoming a champion in their community.

2013 PCFSN Annual Meeting

Who: Members of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition; Dr. Howard Koh (Assistant Secretary for Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services); Sam Kass (Executive Director, Let’s Move!)
What:  Annual Meeting of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition
When:  Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM ET
Where:  The Hubert H. Humphrey Building (The Great Hall), 200 Independence Avenue, SW, Washington, D.C.
Why: Council members will convene to inform the public about its programs and progress as well as discuss future priorities.
